Due to the increased demand, the Franklin County Food Pantry is looking for volunteers from the Club to help pack the food baskets daily for needy families in the county.  Volunteers can come to the Food Pantry between 1:30 and 3:30 each weekday afternoon to help!

At our regular meeting, Thursday, May 15, 2008, the Frankfort Kiwanis Club was pleased to present a check for $500.00 to Simon House to help with expenses for their upcoming fundraiser "A Night in Margueritaville".  Simon House is a temporary home for homeless mothers with children.  Currently they have a waiting list because there is not enough space in the house to meet the need in Frankfort.

Our annual Pancake Breakfast allowed the Frankfort Kiwanis Club to donate $1000.00 to CASA at our May 29th meeting.  CASA is the Court Appointed Special Advocates.  These volunteers assist Family Court in monitoring the progress of judge issued orders in cases involving the welfare of children.  The volunteers report the results to the court.
